September 23-24, 2021 - Rehabilitation Fishing Trip - Miwa
I went to Lake Kasumigaura.
On the early morning of the second day, it finally happened - the sensor went off! The reel next to the car kept making a buzzing sound, so I thought, "Is it a carp?" As I picked up the rod, it seemed to have gotten tangled with the neighboring line, and that one also triggered the sensor. In the darkness, I couldn't see the lines clearly as I landed the fish. It was a thin carp in the 80 cm range. Nevertheless, it was my first carp of the year, and I was delighted. In the pitch-black darkness, a sudden flash went off, and I ended up with a surprised expression in the photo (lol).
The next strike came in the afternoon. The previously monotonous wind suddenly intensified, and at that very moment, the sensor went off. As I held the rod, I could feel the weight and the shaking movement of the head, clearly indicating it was an Black Carp. I carefully handled the situation, determined not to lose it. After some time, I successfully landed it. Although it wasn't particularly large for a Black Carp, it was still my first Black Carp of the year! Another joyous catch.
During this trip, I was fortunate to encounter both carp and Black Carp. As I mentioned before, my grip strength in my left hand has been inadequate, so this was the perfect rehabilitation for me in my current condition.
